Estepona’s City Council has announced the seventh edition of the Young Performers Competition ‘City of Estepona’, aimed at children under 13 years of age. The competition, organized by the Musical Association ‘Gradus ad Parnassum’, seeks to promote and encourage culture and art among young talents in music. Registration is open until April 16, 2025. The national competition will take place on May 24 for semifinals at Colegio San José, and on May 25 for the final at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center. Young instrumentalists up to 13 years old, with Spanish nationality or residence, can participate in categories such as piano, stringed instruments, wind, harp, and guitar. The competition will feature a jury of renowned musical figures, including Fernando Arias, Juan Mendoza, Eduardo Frias, Esteban Morales, Ana Valderrama, and Luis del Valle. Prizes include cash rewards, diplomas, and special awards like the ‘GEWA’ Prize, a recital at Hinves Pianos, and a performance with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga. The competition is sponsored by the City Council of Estepona and supported by various music institutions and organizations.
