Commencing on Thursday, April 10 at 8:00 pm, the series will kick off at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center with the storytelling session ‘They also matter’. Estepona’s City Council has announced the commencement of the fourth installment of the event ‘Season of tales for equality’, a storytelling program designed to combat gender violence and promote values-based education. The focus of this initiative is on equality and breaking free from the restrictive stereotypes that confine both women and men. The inaugural event of the series is scheduled for Thursday, April 10 at 8:00 pm at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center. The session will feature a narrative for adults titled ‘They also matter’, delivered by psychologist, author, and storyteller Alicia Acosta. ‘Season of tales for Equality’ is financially supported by the Andalusian Institute for Women of the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, within the framework of the State Pact against Gender Violence under the auspices of the Secretary of State for Equality and the Fight against Gender Violence of the Ministry of Equality. This initiative builds on the ongoing efforts of the Municipal Women’s Information Center in combating gender inequality and raising awareness among the general public. The goal is to foster a deeper understanding of equality. As Councilor for Women Julia Simon Ortega puts it, ‘Investing in equality is a preventive measure against violence.’ Attendance to the storytelling sessions is free, subject to availability, and interested individuals can register by contacting the Municipal Women’s Information Center at 952804704 or via email at igualdad@estepona.es
