‘Echoes of the Divine. Melodies for the Spirit’ is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, at 8:00 pm. The event will be led by Juanma Parra and will showcase the talents of mezzo-soprano Julia Merino and countertenor Manuel Ruiz. Estepona’s City Council has announced that the Malaga Provincial Symphony Orchestra (OSPM) will present a sacred music concert in support of the Association of People with Disabilities of Estepona, AsDi-Es, at the Felipe VI Auditorium on the same day at 8:00 pm. The performance will feature Julia Merino and Manuel Ruiz, with Maestro Juan Manuel Parra directing a program comprising works by Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Pergolesi, and Handel. Tickets are available for 10 euros (+ booking fee) on www.enterticket.es or at the Auditorium box office. The Malaga Symphony Orchestra, based at the MVA Cultural Center in Málaga, was founded in 1945 with a mission to promote music and nurture emerging artistic talents. It has collaborated with renowned soloists and conductors across various genres, including classical, symphonic flamenco, pop, jazz, and film music. Juanma Parra, the conductor, has worked with several prominent orchestras and vocalists throughout his career. Julia Merino, a mezzo-soprano, is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Opera at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Manuel Ruiz, a countertenor, has achieved notable success in various productions and is set to perform in ‘il Primo Uomo’ at the Early Music Festival of Seville in March 2025.
