The ongoing construction of a new segment of the coastal corridor in the Benamara area is nearing completion, with 90% of the work already done. Estepona Town Hall has announced that this new route, connecting the promenades in El Saladillo and the Dos Hermanas urbanization, is expected to be fully operational by the end of March. The project, with a budget of 468,345 euros (including VAT), involves the creation of a 440-meter-long pedestrian path made of printed concrete, three meters wide, designed for public use by pedestrians, cyclists, and light vehicles. The completion of this section will reclaim a longitudinal strip for transit easement and protection of the public maritime land domain along the entire beachfront. Additionally, plans are in place to enhance other areas such as Bahia Dorada and Atalaya, with improvement works already underway for the La Cala-Jacaranda section. The City Council is also in the process of awarding contracts for the Dunas-Matas Verdes section. These efforts aim to extend the pedestrian route and increase accessibility along the coastline, with over 21 kilometers of the coastal corridor already completed. The sustainable project not only preserves the coastline but also enhances its value, offering a new tourist attraction for the city.
