The event will kick off with a race for schoolchildren at 09:00 hours at García Caparrós square, followed by a race for adults at 15:30 hours. Luis Gil, the councilman from the delegation of Sport, announced that on March 28, starting from 09:00 hours, Estepona will host the fourth stage of the XXIV Provincial Orienteering Circuit ‘Diputación de Málaga 2025’. Over 1,000 schoolchildren and 200 athletes from twenty municipalities in the province, ranging from 10 to 75 years old, are expected to participate. The Circuit, comprising 21 days, commenced on February 2 in Villanueva de Tapia and will conclude on December 14 in Velez Malaga – Torre del Mar. It is organized in collaboration with the municipalities where the tests take place and with the support of the Andalusian Federation of Orientation (Malaga Delegation). The meeting point for the Estepona event will be García Caparrós square, where orienteering enthusiasts will demonstrate their navigational skills using a map to locate different control points in the shortest time possible. The competition will be split into two sessions: in the morning, from 09:00 to 14:00 hours, local school students will participate, while in the afternoon, from 16:00 to 19:00 hours, the event will be open to all participants who register at www.clubcoma.org. The test terrain will predominantly be urban, covering the historic center of the city, with the objective of promoting sporting activities in a natural environment, showcasing sports tourism opportunities in the province of Malaga, and facilitating popular participation and sporting initiation in Orienteering, apart from the competitive and federated aspects.
