A new section of the coastal corridor project in Estepona is set to be developed in the eastern part of the municipality. The City Council has opened a tender for the construction of a pedestrian path connecting Playa Baños with Benamara. The extension will include a 575-meter wooden walkway, linking Avenida de la Playa and Marriott’s Playa Andaluza, as well as connecting with Punta de Baños-Casasasola and Saladillo beach. The project, with a base bid price of 782,106 euros, aims to maintain the continuity of the coastal promenade and comply with urban planning regulations. Approved by the provincial delegation of the Department of Sustainability and Environment, the new section will prioritize environmental protection by using soft materials for the walkway and implementing safety features such as railings and lighting. Estepona Town Council is committed to completing the coastal corridor, with ongoing work in the Benamara area and future plans for Bahía Dorada and Atalaya.
