An important project has been granted by the Estepona City Council for the renovation and enhancement of municipal playgrounds in both urban and suburban areas. The main goal is to update and ensure the safety of these recreational spaces for children. The plan involves replacing outdated play equipment and safety elements with newer, higher quality, and more child-friendly alternatives. The initial phase will cover 18 parks in various locations throughout the city. The awarded budget for the project is 745,254 euros, with a completion timeline of six months. Innovative and functional designs will be implemented, offering a wide range of inclusive games suitable for different age groups. The project also includes upgrading protective surfaces with continuous rubber safety pavements, removing damaged equipment for potential reuse, and relocating urban furniture to optimize the children’s play areas. The installation of new play sets will prioritize safety requirements and manufacturer guidelines. Additionally, areas lacking perimeter safety zones will be enclosed with colorful metal fences. This initiative marks the beginning of a comprehensive plan to revitalize all playgrounds in Estepona over the next few months.
