At the II Gala of Mountaineering in Malaga, the Andalusian Federation of Mountain Sports, Climbing and Hiking awarded the Municipal Climbing Wall of Estepona for its outstanding contribution to the promotion of climbing at a national level. Estepona City Council proudly announced this recognition, emphasizing the climbing wall’s special features and role in expanding the practice of climbing across the country. The award was received during the ceremony at the Edgar Neville Auditorium of the Provincial Council, with councilman Luis Gil accepting on behalf of the delegation of Sport. The climbing wall, known for its quality facilities and commitment to promoting the sport, has become a national reference point. Celebrating its upcoming one-year anniversary, the wall has welcomed numerous teams and professional athletes for training and competitions, as well as offering climbing courses for children aged 6 to 12. Situated in the Fair, Sports and Permanent Leisure Park of Estepona, this outdoor facility boasts a 662-square-meter climbing wall-rocodrome designed for various climbing modalities. With 20 routes of varying difficulties and space for up to 40 climbers simultaneously, it is the largest of its kind in Spain.
