Kicking off on Friday, March 21, the School Games will run until June. Luis Miguel Gil Amores, the councilman from the municipal Sport delegation, and Manuel Vallejo, the president of the ’24 Hours Sports’ Foundation, unveiled the latest edition of the School Games. The event will involve Primary and Secondary Education institutions in the city, showcasing thirty different sports disciplines. Emphasizing the non-competitive nature of the games, the municipal official highlighted the educational aspect of the event. The School Games not only provide an opportunity for children to engage in sports but also aim to educate through discipline, promoting values like teamwork, respect for opponents, and fair play. Vallejo mentioned that students have been training for several months in their chosen sport, with activities like indoor soccer, handball, 3×3 basketball, and volleyball set to take place at various venues around town. Athletics will kick off at the Athletics Stadium in April. Other activities include orienteering at schools and nautical sports at the Real Club Náutico de Estepona. Families interested in registering their children for any of these events are encouraged to reach out to the 24 Hours Sports Foundation, the municipal Sports delegation, or the designated school monitor.
