The local government has initiated the process to hire a team to develop a revitalization plan for the area, focusing on improving several streets and squares. The Estepona City Council is dedicated to enhancing neighborhoods throughout the municipality, starting with the comprehensive renovation plan for the Tres Banderas area. This project will involve upgrading over twelve streets and squares, including pavement, landscaping, infrastructure, and street furniture. Deputy Mayor for Infrastructure, Ana Velasco, emphasizes the goal of completely enhancing the entire street network. The proposed renovations will modernize the pavement, infrastructure, landscaping, and street furniture, aligning with ongoing urban improvement efforts in the city. Streets like Tres Banderas, Pablo Neruda, and Santo Domingo Guzmán are among those targeted for renovation, covering a total area of approximately 11,300 square meters. The plan includes the use of high-quality materials and contemporary design elements for paving and furniture, along with improvements to signage, accessibility, and green spaces. Additionally, upgrades to the sewage and water supply systems, telecommunications infrastructure, natural gas distribution, public lighting, irrigation, and electricity networks are planned. The budget for the technical services contract, including project drafting, construction management, and safety coordination, is set at 133,100 euros (including VAT), with a three-month deadline for submissions. Following the project’s completion, a tender will be issued for the construction works. This initiative is part of a broader neighborhood infrastructure plan for the year, which encompasses projects like the Orquidario surroundings, Avenida Andalucía, Plaza del Ajedrez, Plaza Fuerzas Armadas, Montemayor street, and Avenida Marqués de Duero in Cancelada.
